Hunters Vacation More to Hunt
Print This Post
According to the September issue of the LeisureTrak® report, 48% of hunters took a hunting vacation in 2006 compared to 26% of all Americans who vacationed to play a sport or recreate.
This ranks hunters well ahead of campers, golfers and most other sport enthusiasts.
Eighty-eight percent of hunters say that hunting is their favorite leisure activity and they tend to be much more active than other Americans in pursuit of activities that keep them in the outdoors. Fishing, camping and golf rank second, fourth and sixth among hunters favorite activities.
Hunters watch less television.
While the average American watches TV an average of 3.6 hours a day, hunters average 2.1 hours.
Hunters represent 7% of the U.S. adult population (about 17 million Americans 16 years of age or older).
