The Summer 2009 issue of LINKS magazine’s “LINKS Live” department carried a one page item, “Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota,” which highlighted golf, accommodations and activities in the metro area…a neat precursor to the August 10-16, 2009, PGA Championship at Hazeltine National in Chaska.
New Jersey writer Marilyn Loeser recently visited Minnesota and followed a custom familiarization itinerary. To date, she has posted one feature on CarLady News that tells about her trek with daughter and two aunts to several former family homesteads in northwest and northern Minnesota.

The May 29 issue of Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal carried a story “Staycations could boost state’s tourism industry,” with photo of and quotes from John Edman.
Karrah Anderson penned a story about Minnesota camping that was carried in the Grand Forks Herald and also published in the Woodbury Bulletin, Karrah’s hometown.

SATW member Connie Emerson recently followed a custom familiarization tour, meeting with Cheri Zeppelin of Grand Rapids and Diane Brostrom of Grand Marais along the way (both of whom she lauded post-visit). Emerson will be posting features on the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, Chisholm, Ely, Grand Marais, Grand Rapids and Virginia on www.triporati.com and a feature on the Iron Range on www.suite101.com.
The July/August issue of Audubon magazine ran a feature, “Fall 2009 Migration,” that included Duluth’s Hawk Ridge.
The July 2009 issue of Motorhome magazine has a feature, “Riddles & Runes,” that includes the Runestone Museum in Alexandria and the Heritage Hjemkomst Museum in Moorhead and various activities and attractions that surround each. The story generated several queries via the magazine’s reader service.
