A triangle with all sides equal is called an equilateral triangle!

And, equal and supporting in all their sides and ways is exactly how to describe the communities’ of Cambridge, Isanti and North Branch, Minnesota who have partnered to make the 2008 Governors Deer Hunting Opener a success!

This "triangle" of communities in eastern Minnesota is setting aside thoughts of competition to work together as partner-hosts of the 2008 Minnesota Governor’s Deer Hunting Opener this November. Chamber executives from all three cities have been meeting for months to identify cooperative and informative ideas for displaying the areas fine points to the visiting media.

As a lead-up to the annual deer opener, at each community selected winner from their respective fall event to compete in the first ever "Governor’s Venison Chili Cook-Off" on Friday, November 7 in conjunction with special events at the Isanti Sportsman’s Club.

To carry the theme of "deer hunting" even further, communities are producing welcome signage and buttons, in blaze orange of course, to blanket the three city area with a message of hospitality for hunters and media attending the event. A special map to help attendees navigate throughout all three communities will be included in welcome packets as well as specific information on each city.

To further showcase hunting history in the area, communities are hosting "A Taste of Local Folklore" for media. Local hunters will be available in host establishments in each city to share their stories of past hunting episodes. Heartland Express, a local bus company serving the three cities, will transport media from city to city.

Cambridge, Isanti and North Branch, Minnesota have epitomized the "equilateral triangle" through their equal and cooperative effort in promoting the 2008 Minnesota Governor’s Deer Hunt and in highlighting the special features of all three communities.
